Hump Day Review: bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss

Hello lovelies! I have another review of a product from my ipsy November Glam Bag today!! I love lipgloss, lipstick, basically any kind of lip product that adds a pop of color to my face...so I was extremely excited to try this product. I received the shade called Dare Devil.

What did I think?

I'm super torn on how I feel about this product. Here's what it looks like on my lips:

Didn't you expect the color to be so much darker?? Because I did.

PROS:
1. SUPER hydrating and moisturizing. There are so many lipglosses out there that completely dry my lips out, but not this one. My lips feel soft and comfortable while wearing it.
2. It has a vanilla/mint scent and taste to it which I just love. It gives your lips that tingly feeling that makes you feel like it's doing something important.
3. It's not sticky at all, which is a huge pet peeve of mine when it comes to lipglosses.

CONS:
1. It's not as pigmented/color doesn't match what's in the tube. This isn't a huge deal, but I really liked how it looked in the tube, so it was kind of a major letdown when I put it on. I'm not sure if the other shades are like this or not, but it makes me wary to buy any more of these.
2. It wears off EXTREMELY easily. Boo.

MY GRADE: B-
Love the feel of it, but the color and the wear of it were a huge bust.

AVAILABLE AT: Sephora or here.
PRICE: $18 (For the full tube...I received a sample size)

That's all for now! Until next time!

Five Beauty Products I'm Thankful For

Hello again! As Thanksgiving weekend draws to a close, and reality draws near, I wanted to share five beauty products that I'm extremely thankful for. They aren't necessarily my favorite products of all time, but they are things I enjoy or that make my beauty regimen a little easier. I chose one for each category: face, eyes, lips, body, and a makeup tool. I hope you enjoy and I hope you find something new to pick up for yourself!

FACE:
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation
$36 at any Estee Lauder counter or here.
I'm obsessed with this foundation and firmly believe that it's worth the price. I hate foundation that feels heavy or cakey, so I especially love the lightweight feel of Double Wear Light. It also provides amazing coverage; not a single flaw to be found.

EYES:
e.l.f Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils
$1.00 at Target or here.
These are a fun way to add a pop of color or highlight to one of your makeup looks. They come in nine different shades, and at just $1.00 I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to buy them all.

LIPS:
Eos Organic Lip Balm
$2.99 at Target or any drugstore
I cannot get enough of these little spheres of lip balm! They are insanely hydrating, go on clear, and contain ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E. They are also 95% organic and 100% natural. The ones pictured are Lemon Drop and Sweet Mint. The flavors are so true to the names, I find myself licking my lips as much as possible.

BODY: J.R. Watkins Lemon Cream Hand and Body Lotion
Around $9 at Target and drugstores
I'm in love with this hand and body lotion and the company who makes it. The J. R. Watkins company has been around since 1868, and basically invented natural beauty products. All products are made in the USA and are 99% natural. A word of warning about this particular scent: DO NOT use it while hungry!! It smells exactly like a lemon meringue pie, crust and all! MMM so good.

MAKEUP TOOL:
e.l.f Eye Shadow Brush
$1.00 at Target or here.
This little brush really gets the job done at an extremely affordable price. Don't get me wrong, professional brushes are important, but this brush can do all the basics just fine. It's soft, a good size, and has lasted me a long time.

Well that concludes my list! I hope that everyone found something they could find useful! Have a great week back at work, and remain thankful for everything even though Thanksgiving is over.

Get on over to HauteLook and Allure!

Hello everyone! It's been wayyy too long since I've posted, but things have been CRAZY! I was working both jobs this past week, my brother and his girlfriend are in town, and of course Thanksgiving! Mine was wonderful, and I hope yours was too! I wanted to take a minute to show you two things that I've ordered online that I'm extremely excited about. I'll also be posting later to share with you Five Beauty Items I'm Thankful For, so keep an eye out!

So what did I get??

theBalm Balm Jovi Rockstar Face Palette

This palette is originally $39.50 and I got it on HauteLook for $19.50!!! Words cannot express my excitement! This palette has been on my list for a long time, so when I found it for such a cheap price, I was ecstatic. If you want one of your own, head over to HauteLook here.

Allure Holiday Beauty Box

I had heard about the Allure Beauty Boxes and wasn't sure I was going to buy one, but then I got the email about their Holiday Box. I saw how much you get for only $29.99 and I was like ummmm okayyy! I'm super excited to try everything out!

That's it for now, but stay tuned for my blog post later! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Monday Review: Benefit They're Real! Mascara

Happy Monday everyone!! I spent my Monday at my brand new job! Yup that's right, I am leaving the Estee Lauder team at Macy's and moving on to a full-time, 40 hours a week receptionist job in a graphic design/marketing office. With my marketing background, there is definitely room for me to grow and I'm so excited! I am sad to leave my co-workers at Macy's though; seriously some of the best people I know!

NOW

Time for my first review of a product from my ipsy November Glam Bag! I have been wanting to try They're Real! for a very long time and I didn't waste any time in using this product.

I only received a sample size, but I'm guessing that the brush is true to the regular size. As you can see, the brush has very short, spiky bristles at the end to get those eyelashes in the outer and inner corner of your eyes. Love that feature!

THE CLAIMS (from the Benefit website):
They're real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!
What else you need to know:
94%
saw dramatic length & volume*
90% saw base-to-tip curl*
94% saw visible lift*
100% saw long-wearing results*
*Results observed in a consumer panel survey

With They're Real!

Without They're Real!

MY TAKE: I think you can figure it out just by looking at the pictures. I FREAKING LOVE THIS MASCARA!
Does it give me dramatic length and volume? YUP
Do I see base-to-tip curl? DOUBLE YUP
Do I see visible lift? YUP
Did I experience long-wearing results? YUP

My absolute favorite thing about this mascara is the way it curls my lashes. Let's be honest: my natural lashes kinda suck. This mascara gives me everything I need and they still look natural. This product is a MUST HAVE. Kind of on the pricey end, but considering how many bad mascaras there are out there, I can justify the price.

GRADE: A+
AVAILABLE AT: Sephora or benefitcosmetics.com for $23

Until next time!

MUST HAVE ITEM!

If you can only buy one thing from the drugstore, what should you buy??

My answer: WET N WILD COLOR ICON EYESHADOWS

I swatched Sparkle 'Til Morning for you so you could see how pigmented these shadows are:

You do have to be careful when applying them, just because the are so pigmented and buttery and smooth. MMM I love them! I usually tap my brush on my mirror before applying the shadow, because one swipe of your brush through these shadows gets you A LOT of product.

At only $2.99 for the trios, and $4.99 for the 8-pans, these are an absolute MUST HAVE. Also, from 11/18-11/24 at Rite Aid, all Wet n Wild cosmetics are BOGO1/2OFF so you can get these for next to nothing!

Now go out and buy some! Happy shopping!

Featured Blogger: Emily at Beauty Broadcast

Hey everybody! I wanted to share a video by a blogger that I absolutely LOVE. Emily has had huge success with her YouTube channel: can you say 321,000 subscribers?? Her videos are what inspired me to start my blog. I wanted to share her most recent video with you specifically, because she has a slightly different take on the Clump Crusher mascara than I did, and she also mentions the new Revlon Ultimate Suede Lipsticks. Bottom line on those: don't waste your money!! I have heard nothing but bad things about these, so instead of wasting my money to tell you that, I'll have Emily do it instead ; )

If you have time, check out her other videos. Although, that could take up the next ten hours...they are so addicting! I hope you enjoy, and I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

My November ipsy Glam Bag: What's Inside??

Happy Hump Day everyone! I know you all have been waiting with bated breath to see what I got in my ipsy Glam Bag for November!! Ok maybe I'm being dramatic, but I know I was insanely excited to receive it in the mail!

First of all: what is ipsy you ask??

Each month, subscribers receive a Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. ipsy also posts videos and tutorials on different ways to use the products you receive in your bag. You get this all for only $10 a month! It was created by Michelle Phan and is growing extremely quickly.

So what does my bag look like and what was inside??

I received (from left to right):
Benefit They're Real beyond mascara: I am SO excited to try out this product!! I have heard nothing but amazing things about this mascara...and we all know that a great mascara is hard to find!
bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Daredevil: I've also heard great things about this gloss, and I always love me a deep berry shade!
theBalm Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow: This brand has the COOLEST packaging! I mean..."Meet Matte"?? How much cuter can you get?? I'm just kind of bummed that it was only one shade of eyeshadow instead of some sort of duo. I'll show the color once I review it!
nailtini Nail Lacquer: Nail polish is always a good thing! I'm excited to show you what it looks like in my review ; )
Scarlet Cosmetics Intense Eyeliner: I have never heard of this brand before, so it will be interesting to try it out!!
The Glam Bag: This is the only thing I'm a little bit disappointed about. The theme of the November bag is "Party Perfect", so I was imagining gold, sequins, bling, FUN! ... not boring brown. Ohhh well...for only $10 can a girl really complain?

I'll be reviewing everything as I start to use them! If you want to subscribe to ipsy go here

That's all for now! Have a great rest of your Wednesday!

Random Favorite: Nivea Water Lily and Pearls Hydrating Shower Gel

Helloooo everyone! I am so so sorry for the extra-long hiatus! I was on vacation with friends in this beautiful place:

Galena, IL

It is seriously SO awesome there. We rented a cabin with a hot tub, and it was just the getaway that I needed.

Now onto the REAL star of this post: my current favorite body wash!

I had received a small sample of this with one of my orders from drugstore.com, and I thought I would give it a try. I wasn't expecting to really like it, because I normally prefer more of a cream/oil based body wash. My skin gets very dry and itchy during the winter and I was definitely not counting on this body wash to solve that problem. Let's see how it all turned out!

THE CLAIMS (from back of bottle): Nivea Water Lily & Pearls Hydrating Shower Gel blends the alluring scent of freshly picked Egyptian water lily with moisturizing pearls made with golden sunflower oil. This skin-indulging formula creates a seductive shower experience leaving you feeling refreshed and confident. Developed with Nivea's breakthrough Hydra IQ Technology to provide your skin with intense long-lasting moisturization throughout the day even beyond the shower.
Ingredients

MY TAKE: In my past experiences with shower gels, the formula would just kind of run off my body in the shower, and I would never feel like it was really sinking into my skin. That is definitely not the case with this product. It's like you can almost feel the moisture between your fingertips and my skin definitely feels dewy and soft after my shower. I LOVE the scent; it's a floral smell, but also fresh and wakes me up on those early mornings. You also get about 500 mL of product, so you're not going to run out anytime soon. I seriously cannot think of anything wrong with this product!

GRADE: A+
PURCHASED AT: Walgreens for $6.79
Right now at Walgreens, ALL Nivea body washes are BOGOFREE but you must have a Balance Rewards card! It's free to sign up and they can get you all set up right at the register!

That's all for now folks!

Hump Day Review: Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara

Happy Hump Day everyone! I apologize for posting this so late in the day, but I've been up since 2:30 this morning getting ready to perform The Bullycide Project twice in Grand Rapids! Aaaand with all of the election excitement last night, I didn't actually fall asleep until after midnight. I miiight be close to the hallucination stage, so hopefully this post makes sense!

COVERGIRL CLUMP CRUSHER MASCARA

THE CLAIMS (from back of package): The Clump Crusher brush from Covergirl delivers 200% more volume and ZERO clumps for beautifully separated lashes. Clump Crusher mascara's innovative curved brush features a lash loading section to saturate lashes with loads of product and fine-tooth comb bristles to evenly distribute mascara.

First thing in the morning

After about six hours
MY TAKE: The name sounds scary, but it really, truly does not clump! I've always been a fan of their Lashblast mascaras, particularly the volume one in the orange tube. And that's precisely what Clump Crusher is missing: VOLUME! I have itty bitty eyelashes, so volume is key for me. I know that that isn't the point of this mascara, but it's mascara! Just for that reason, I don't think I would purchase this product again. The whole not-clumping thing is awesome, don't get me wrong. Without that feature the mascara is just kind of...meh.

GRADE: B
PURCHASED AT: Wal-Mart for $6.79

Thanks so much for reading! Stay tuned!
Looooove,
Elizabeth

P.S. Sorry for the extremely crappy pics! They were taken with my phone, and next time I won't be so lazy!

Your Newest "Go-to" Blog

HELLO WORLD!!

Let's be real: THIS IS THE SCARIEST THING EVER. Creating a blog I mean. I've got writer's block already.

WHERE DID THIS IDEA COME FROM??
In July, I started working as a Beauty Advisor for Estee Lauder (coolest job ever by the way. seriously.) All of a sudden I became OBSESSED with makeup, skincare, and beauty products. Like spend five hours straight on the Internet watching makeup YouTube videos obsessed. I seriously can't believe the monster I've bcome. Then I got to thinking...I could do that! I've bought so much makeup in the past few months that I could probably start my own drugstore. But instead of competing with Walgreens, (the best place on Earth) I decided to blog, post reviews, and share my love for these products I've been trying.

ALSO,
random fact: I am involved in a traveling theatre company that performs in schools across the country and even in Canada (eh). Our show is called The Bullycide Project and features stories about bullying, depression, and suicide. We have been featured on CNN, CBS 48 Hours, and we were invited to perform at the Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Summit in September 2011. I thought it would be cool to share my experiences with that on my blog as well. Hence the name,

Beauty and Justice For All.

I absolutely cannot wait to get started! Stay tuned for my very first review: Covergirl's NEW Clump Crusher Mascara!

Until then,
Elizabeth
