NEW!! Wet N Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection!!

Happy Monday everybody!! Ugh it just does not seem fair that we are back to the work week already...I had an amazing weekend, and I hope all of you did as well!

I think I can beat your Monday blues, by sharing and reviewing two products from the new Fergie Centerstage Collection for Wet N Wild!! I picked up a lipstick and a face product from the display, but I want to go back and pick up the eyeshadow primer and maybe a few other things so stay tuned for more reviews of this line! Let's get started!

Fergie Perfect Pout Lip Color in D-Vinely Chilled

I was really drawn to this color, because I don't have anything exactly like it in my ever-growing collection. Not sure if you can tell, but it does have sparkle in it but not chunky sparkle. Here's what it looks like on my lips:

Well the color is off, because Blogspot re-adjusts it when I upload the photos (anyone know how to fix that??)...so annoying! The color is much closer to the swatch I have shown on my hand. I'm still super in love with the color, but the texture not so much. As soon as you put it on, you can feel how dry it is, and in the photo you can definitely tell that it dried my lips out. Putting a gloss over it did make it more comfortable to wear but didn't change the fact that my lips looked gross and cracked! I'm not sure if it's the glitter in this particular lipstick that makes it that dry, or if all of the lipsticks in this collection are like that. They're so affordable that I don't mind trying more out...and they come in 9 more gorgeous shades (even a black)!!
MY GRADE: C+ (could possibly change after trying more!)
AVAILABLE AT: Drugstores, Target, Wal-Mart etc.
Only $3.49!

Fergie To Reflect Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow

This was another product that I was immediately drawn to...it's so pretty!! It definitely looks like something I don't own already so I was eager to try it out. As you can see, it is very shimmery (hence the name) so this isn't something I would use all over my face. I have been using it as a highlighter on my cheekbones, and my decolletage. It's very pretty and gives you a shimmery sheen that really brightens up your look. This isn't something I'll use everyday, so it's not a must-have product for me but considering how pretty it is, and really how much product you get for such a low price, I really am happy with the purchase!
MY GRADE: B+
AVAILABLE AT: Drugstores, Target, Wal-Mart etc.
Only $5.99!

Now for some Justice...

I love Wet N Wild so much because they offer amazing quality products for an insanely low price. I wanted to do a little research on the brand to see if they do anything special for the community or other organizations...of course they do! Wet N Wild partners with a charity called Dress For Success, who have helped hundreds of thousands of women around the world thrive in work and life by providing professional attire and a support network to find jobs and remain employed. In 2011, Wet N Wild committed $10,000 and 10,000 bottles of their MegaLast Nail Color to Dress For Success...how cool is that?? Wet N Wild started in nail polish, so they wanted top off the outfits of these women with a perfect manicure to fit their style. Read all about it and how you can get involved here.

That's all for today folks!!

Stay tuned this week to see what I got in my January ipsy bag, my January Birchbox, more sample reviews, and more MUST-HAVES! Can't wait!

Until tomorrow,
Elizabeth

NEW! Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation + Pressed Powder!!

Hello everybody! Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! I absolutely cannot wait for a weekend spent with my wonderful boyfriend, and getting stuff done for The Bullycide Project. I hope you're taking full advantage of your upcoming weekend as well!

I'm super excited about this blog post today, because it kicks off a long series of reviews for New Drugstore Products!! There is a ton of new things coming out for 2013, and you better believe I've been snatching them up. Today I will be talking about the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Pressed Powder...what did I think??

I was excited to try this because I have yet to find a drugstore foundation that I really love, but I was also a little wary because I am so loyal and in love with my Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation.

Here's what my face looks like without Revlon Nearly Naked (ugh it's so difficult for me to post this...just keep in mind that this was around 7 this morning):

Here's what I look like with Revlon Nearly Naked:

As you can see in the first picture I have some red patches and some freckles...and the foundation evens out my skin pretty well!! It feels very light on the skin and almost gives your skin a kind of dewy finish. You can see that detail in the following pictures:

In the second picture, can you see how my hand kind of has a pearly sheen to it? I really like this about the foundation because it really brightens up my face and makes me look awake.

The powder is an amazing quality for a drugstore brand. It's so buttery soft and smooth:

The powder takes away a little bit of that pearly sheen, but not all of it, and it really does a great job keeping the foundation in place. I didn't use a face primer at any time while using this, and my makeup stayed put through my nine hour work days.

Overall I was extremely impressed with both the foundation and the powder! These products are marketed as "Makeup so refreshingly light it melts right in, creating a fresh, even look. Pressed powder blends seamlessly with a lightweight feel" and I think it does exactly that!! The packaging is great for the powder (not cheap feeling) but I can't say the same for the foundation. I prefer foundation with a squeeze tube so that you can kind of control how much you're getting. Using my fingers gave me too much product, while using a makeup sponge gave me too little. That's the only thing I really don't like about this product!! Also, my shade in the foundation is 160 Fresh Beige and 030 Medium in the powder. There are 15 shades total, but I don't remember seeing that many in the display...there are 5 shades in the powder, but I definitely remember only seeing three. You might have to do some searching or just order online...I believe it's worth it!!

MY GRADE: A-
AVAILABLE AT: Drugstores, Target
I got them for $7.49 each at Target, but they might be more expensive at different locations!

That's all for today folks! Unfortunately, I forgot that I have to head to a wedding tomorrow as soon as I'm out of work, so tomorrow's post will have to be pushed back to Monday...so sorry about that!

I'll leave you with a quote about beauty to fulfill the Justice portion of this post:

"Beauty has a lot to do with character."- Kevyn Aucoin

Remember that always!!

Until Monday,
Elizabeth

Samples, Samples, Samples!!

Happy Hump Day everybody!! For some reason, I am insanely tired today, so I am very grateful that the week is half over! It's going by way faster than I thought it would...thank goodness!

Today I have reviews of even more samples that I've been trying over the past few weeks. I've got some nice variety for you: a lotion, face wash, razor, and hair mask. Let's get started!!

Jergens Daily Moisture Dry Skin Moisturizer (New!)

I thought that the winter season was the perfect time to try this lotion that I received in my Allure Holiday Beauty Box. I am so glad that I did...I really love this lotion! As you can see on the bottle, this formula is enriched with silk proteins and a citrus extract blend of lemon, grapefruit, and pineapple juices. It really does feel silky on your skin and has a very smooth and creamy texture. I definitely feel like it keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day and you can actually feel the moisture getting into your skin. If you're looking for a standard lotion to save your skin during these awful winter months, I would pick up a bottle of this! This also comes in a fragrance free option!
MY GRADE: A
AVAILABLE AT: Target, drugstores for around $6-7

Philosophy Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser

This sample came from my Birthday Girl gift set that I bought myself for my birthday (I know, I know). Overall, I'm not super impressed with this cleanser, especially considering the price. This product is formulated to cleanse, tone, and melt away all face and eye makeup in one step...while also hydrating your skin. Well it definitely took all my makeup off, but if they call this hydrating then they're crazy! My face was so insanely dry after using this...my skin was so tight and just ugh! I absolutely cannot stand it when my face feels/looks dry, so I was immediately turned off to this cleanser. I will not be purchasing a full-size bottle.
MY GRADE: C
AVAILABLE AT: Sephora, or here
Prices range from $10-$50 depending on what size you get...SO not worth it!!

Schick Hydro Silk Razor

I received this (obviously) full-size sample from the sample bag I was given from Ulta for Cyber Monday. Razors are kind of on the pricey side, so I was excited to try one before spending money on it! Welp, my experience with this was a big ole "mehhhhh". It's one of those razors with "Water-Activating Serum" and I'm one of those people that need a little bit more moisture than that. I tried to use it with just a little bit of shaving cream because I'm paranoid about cutting myself, and it got completely clogged up and was basically useless. I do like the handle on this, and my legs did feel smooth afterwards...but they always do after you shave. I'm a shaving cream kinda gal, and I'm staying that way! I know a lot of people like this type of razor though, so it might be worth it for you to check out!
MY GRADE: B-
AVAILABLE AT: Drugstores for around $10-11

Amika Nourishing Mask

I received this sample in my latest Birchbox. I was really excited to use it, because this is a hair mask that you can use everyday as a conditioner...which I did! Unfortunately, I didn't notice anything remarkably different about my hair even after three days of using this. The smell is AMAZING and my hair definitely felt thicker, but I think it's supposed to do more than just that. It's just not something I can see myself regularly using. Boo.
MY GRADE: C+
AVAILABLE AT: Their website
$40 for 500 ml

So overall this round of samples was an absolute bust!! The only thing I can confidently recommend is the lotion...but I guess one is better than none!

Now for some Justice...

One of the best forms of Justice is getting a high-end item for a great, low price. Don't you ever just drool over the Target + Guest Designer collections? Well beauty items are starting to become more popular than high fashion in the consumer world, and Sephora is listening!! Check out this article that I read today on the subject. Nothing seems more fair and righteous than being able to get an amazing designer product for half the price (ok well maybe a lot of other things but oh well). I can't wait to see how the beauty world evolves and I'm sure you share my enthusiasm!

That's all for today! Stay tuned: tomorrow I review Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation and Pressed Powder!!

Until tomorrow,
Elizabeth
